While in the cave, library staff took turns reading passages from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer about the cave exploring adventures of Tom, Becky and Huck.

The Butners show off some of the great doorprizes that were givin out at the end of the tours.

This year, the annual American Girl program was an opportunity to share what an escaped slave girl's life was like in Mark Twain's era by featuring one of the first American Girl characters, Addy.
Ms. Amy and Ms. Arnetha serve some traditional snacks at "Addy's Freedom Party," including hoppin' john, cornpone and fried pies.
While the attendees enjoy their snacks, Ms. Kim helps the play cast get ready for their entrances for "Friendship and Freedom: A Play about Addy."
In her new home in Pennsylvania, Addy was finally able to attend school with all the other children.
