The 2011 Summer Reading Program at the library saw a lot of fun, entertaining programs that brought the world to Jacksonville! We started off with Critters from Around the World with Rick Rakestraw as he introduced his furry friends to the library. Then we celebrated World Wide Knit in Public Day with thousands of other knitters. After that, we went Globetrotting with Miss Luanne and Otis to explore the world through stories, costumes and songs. Finally, we got to explore Africa with centuries old dance and drum rhythms with Manga African Dance.

Teens enjoyed some unusual programs during the 2011 Summer Reading Program, You Are Here. We started by exploring Ancient Egypt in Teen Tuts with fun facts and spooky trivia about mummies, pyramids and curses. The second program, Teen Green, provided some recycled crafts and book art.
